Avengers Party Ideas
We threw our first Avengers Party last week and had so many fun ideas I am devoting a full post to just the food! Make sure you hop on over and check out all our Avenger Games and Movie Marathon fun.
One fun way to turn the food into an activity is to ask everyone to bring an Avengers themed food. A quick google search will help you find plenty of ideas from Thor’s Hammers (cheese cubes with pretzel sticks) to Hulk Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow Pops. Since a lot of our Avengers Movie Marathon Party was centered around activities we kept the food pretty basic BUT we had one great friend bring a Captain America Fruit Plate (see below for more details). She did a great job and I love how simple it was. The last thing I wanted was someone to stress over the food they were bringing to share. AND hands down it was a favorite of all the kiddos.
Table Decorations
The table decorations were simple to make. I used upside down paper cups to prop up Super Hero Sound Effects taped to sticks. I used PicMonkey (affiliate link to create the sound effect bubbles. Small ones for the table and large ones for the wall. They even and Super Hero Shields and Masks you can print. It took me less than 5 minutes to select, resize and print everything. Awesome!
These are the Super Hero sound effects that I printed out all on one sheet for the table decorations. It was a great accent to the table, yet super simple!
These are the ones I printed out each on a full sheet and cut them out. To make it easier on myself, I only cut the masks in full detail and did a few highlight cuts on “Kaboom”
Captain America Shield Fruit Plate
Since a lot of our Avengers Movie Marathon Party was centered around activities we kept the food pretty basic BUT we had one great friend bring a Captain America Shield Fruit Plate . She did a great job and I love how simple it was. The last thing I wanted was someone to stress over the food they were bringing to share AND hands down it was a favorite of all the kiddos!
I love how she used a blue paper to complete the Captain America shield instead of stressing about running to the store to get blue berries at the last minute just for the look. The kiddos loved dipping the strawberries in the fruit dip. CAUTION: if you bring this to share at your next party, it may be gone in less than 5 minutes, too!
What You Need:
- Round plate
- 1-2 lbs strawberries – washed and tops cut off
- Fruit dip served in a small container in the center
Avengers Themed Personal Pizzas
We started our party early but knowing that our guests usually eat around 10:30/11 am at school, we planned on lunch by letting them get creative with their own food making their own Avengers themed Personal Pizzas.
What You Need:
- Prepared mini Pizza Crusts – in the store near the pizza sauce I found packs of 3 minis in each
- You can also use English Muffins for even smaller pizzas
- Pizza Sauce – can get a green pesto sauce too for more of a Hulk look
- A variety of Veggies
- Think greens for Hulk
- Think neutrals for faces or in place of white, etc
- Think black for Black Widow and/or any character eyes
- Shredded Cheese ( I had 2 lbs ready for 12 pizzas and we still had a little left over)
- Pepperonis – whole or cut into smaller slices
- Plastic spoons for pizza sauce spreading
- Paper towels or paper plates to prepare the pizza on
- Pizza cutter or large knife
Directions:
Step 1: It is easiest if you have everything precut and prepared ahead of time. In the party section at the store I found a great little serving tray that divided the food and made it easy to share across the table. It would have been nice if I had 2 of these out on the table. Also, preheat the oven and turn that air-conditioning on if you live in a hot state like Arizona! That way the pizzas can bake as soon as they are made and the AC will keep the house from being full of cranky, hot people.
Step 2: Give them quick directions on how to make their own pizzas (spread the sauce first) and then give some ideas, like…use green veggies or the green pesto sauce for a Hulk Pizza, Captain America Shield Pizza with pepperonis and cheese or pepperoni and mushrooms, Black Widow Pizza using olives and pepperonis, Iron Man Pizza using orange and white cheese and pepperonis, if they want. These are just a few options and for younger fans it may be easier if you have pictures/drawings to spark their ideas.
Step 3: Spread sauce on the pizza crust and let their imaginations go wild.
Step 4: Bake and serve. Since the crust was pre baked, baking in the oven took less than 8 minutes. We were able to bake 6 pizzas at a time switching the pans from the top shelf to the middle and vice versa after 4 minutes. It was also easiest to cut all the pizzas in 4s before handing them to the kiddos to eat.
Avenger Dr. Pepper Ice Cream Floats
We of course wrapped the evening of Avenger Movie Fun with Dr. Pepper Ice cream Floats for us adults and Rootbeer Floats for the kiddos. You cannot go wrong with that!
[…] As I mentioned above, right now it is easy to find Avengers themed food at the grocery store to help with your party planning with soda, chips and crackers. This included some fun food for our snack table but also one of our main activities of Avenger Mini Pizzas. Check out all our Avengers Themed Food Ideas here. […]
