So I have got to ask….
What is your favorite and most successful summer schedule/routine?
As the school year is coming to and end, I start to make plans for the summer. Although my son is just in preschool, it gave him the structure he needed during the day. Now that it is almost over I need to put a little more structure back into my days. It is a great opportunity to get back to the basics. I will be the first to admit that I am not the best with routines and structure. It is something I am constantly working on! =)
Last summer, what worked for us was a general schedule. I picked 3 days a week to do something specific. My son started calling these “School Days.” Monday was “Craft Day”, Wednesday was “In the Kitchen” (usually a baking or other kind of food project) and Fridays were “Science Day” or “Fun Friday” (I switched off between the two). To help me generate ideas/themes I spent 2 days on one letter of the Alphabet (i.e. Monday and Wednesday = A, Friday and Monday = B, etc.). This schedule left Tuesdays and Thursdays for park days and other fun activities with friends.
What do you do or what worked best for you?
