Living in Arizona I often avoid turning on my oven, especially in the summer time with the already high temperatures outside. This summer I have been relying a lot on my new Avalon Bay Air Fryer. It’s a great way to fry, bake, grill and roast our favorite foods in a healthier way without heating up the house. Win, win! The kiddos love helping me cook with it too. They helped make a video of one of their favorite fall recipes to make. Hop on down below to check it out!

Our Favorite Things to Cook
A few of our favorite things to cook in the Air Fryer on a regular basis are sweet potato french fries, sausage, bacon, carne asada meat and tostada shells just to name a few. I have a tendency to overcook meat on the stovetop but when I cook sausage, bacon or any other meat in the Air Fryer, my husband always questions if cheated and cooked it in the microwave (because it is lacking my typically burn marks from the stovetop! lol). For example, when I cook sausage in this fryer I don’t have to worry much about flipping the links. They browned like this in the picture below without me flipping it. Awesome points!
For cooking veggies and potatoes in the fryer, we simply add our sliced veggies in a plastic container and shake them around with a little olive oil (just enough to cover them), add them to the fryer and bake in the fryer until tender! Depending on how many veggies we are doing, it usually takes less than 15 minutes.
Easy Mummy Hot Dogs
I mentioned we can bake in our Air Fryer and Mummy Hot Dogs are one of my kiddos’ favorite recipe to make in it. It’s fast, it’s easy and a fun.
What You Need:
- Biscuit dough – we bought the pre-made refrigerated canned biscuits
- Favorite hot dogs – whole or cut in half
- Favorite toppings – mustard, ketchup, etc.
Directions:
My kiddos thought it would be fun to make a video to show everyone how they make their mummies. Enjoy!
