It is that time once again to drag all those boxes in the garage out and to decorate for the most wonderful time of the year!! I love Christmas and decorating my house from top to bottom. I started collecting Christmas decorations and ornaments before I was even married. I am one of those annoying people who puts there Christmas decorations up before Christmas because one month is just not enough time to enjoy all the pretty lights!!
My kids love it too and begin asking the day after Halloween if we can put our tree up. I love that they got my Christmas spirit! One of our family traditions we started when we first had kids is to get each of them a Christmas ornament, decoration, or book each year so they can start their own Christmas collection. When they grow up and leave the house one day they will have their very own tote of Christmas goodies to decorate their own trees and homes!!
It is always so fun each year as we unpack everything they ooh and aah over each others things and they tell stories about when they got it. Normally I have a theme such as if we go somewhere special they get an ornament or item that will remind them of the occasion (example: a Nutcracker ornament when we went to see the ballet).
This year I am using the girls favorite new Hallmark movie as our theme. Have you seen their new movie Northpole? If you haven’t you should your kids will love it! We have watched it quite a few times since it came out last week. Anyway they have lots of adorable things from the movie at Walmart right now.#CollectiveBias
We were shopping at Walmart right after we watched the movie and my 8 year old daughter excitedly points at the aisle and says look the people form the movie must have shopped at Walmart there is the sprinkle container and cookie cutter that’s the same. We all had a good little giggle funny girl!! #NorthpoleFun
After watching the movie the kids decided they had to have the Once Upon A Northpole Christmas book and the Find Me Santa Snowflake ornament. The ornament lights up and has our families name on it! I find them pushing the button all the time. They really want to make sure Santa knows how to get here.
We added the book to our Christmas Book Advent! We try to add at least one new one a year and this one is perfect!
My 6 year old was very insistent that we get our cousins a Find Me Santa Snowflake too so Santa could find them because they travel to Arizona from Texas! Its all wrapped up and ready for them when they get here!
This year for our Christmas item for each of the kids we bought them Magic Snowballs! In the movie Clementine explains that the Northpole snow is magic and is made of happy memories. You can’t help but giggle and be happy when a magic snowball comes your way. This is an experiment I had to try and it was quite the success!! Nothing turns a frown upside down like a magic snowball flinging towards you! My kids have had a whole lot of fun with them and since we live in Arizona this is as close as they get to a snowball fight! Sad I know:)
I love that you’re already getting your children special Christmas items to bring with them someday! These items are so perfect for that too!! #client
