As a parent, I tend to be a little picky about what music is available for my kiddos to listen to. I want kid’s songs that everyone can enjoy and will not drive anyone crazy if played over and over again. The “Music in Motion” children’s music CD from Groove Kid Nation is one CD I could listen to all day. I really enjoy it!
Groove Kid Nation uses a variety of instruments and sounds to create music that teaches about instruments & the sounds they make, rhythm/beats and encourages movement. I not only want to tap my feet to it, but I want to dance to it, too (and if you know me, I don’t dance 😮 ). It is a lot of fun!
You can listen to samples of the music over on their site from both CDs. The “Music in Motion” is below “The Wheels on the Bus” CD. Our particular favorite is “4 Little Kittens”. You can also check out their “Resources” tab for a couple free mp3 downloads, videos and helpful articles, like “The Best Musical Instruments for Kids Under Age 5.”
Description from the company:
“Music in Motion continues off of the success of the critically acclaimed first release, The Wheels on the Bus. This time around, Lee and his team of top L.A. musicians recorded an album designed to get children moving to the beat while simultaneously learning about musical concepts and instruments.
Through groovy soul tracks, this mostly original set draws kids into the action with specific instructions on what to do from funny dances, to playing air guitar, to responding to musical cues, to simply nodding their heads to the beat.
An entirely new band of feline characters known as the Kool Katz guide the fun, and the enclosed 10-page booklet features colorful illustrations of each Kool Kat playing their own instrument.”
Another cool thing about Groove Kid Nation is that they donate 10% of the wholesale price of “Music in Motion” to CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting poverty.
This CD is definitely approved by this parent. I would even bring it on a long car trip! Now what does that say about it? lol
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Thanks for the recommendation. My kids could use some more music.
