I have had this homemade granola bar recipe for forever and am not even sure where I found it but it is a good one. The girls and I made it for one of their summer cooking classes awhile ago and they really liked it. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
What You Need:
- 5 cups crispy rice cereal
- 4 cups quick cooking oats ( I used regular and they were fine)
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Two 9×13 pans
Directions:
Step 1: Get prepared! My oldest read the whole recipe to us before we started. We didn’t do this last time and ran into some problems. We poured, stirred, mixed and got everything together.
Step 2: Combine cereal, oats, and raisins in a large bowl.
Step 3: In a small saucepan, heat the honey and brown sugar to a boil, stirring constantly.
Step 4: Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract and blend until smooth.
Step 5: Time to mix! Pour the liquid mixture over the cereal mixture and mix well. Add chocolate chips and mix thoroughly.
Step 6: Divide up and press into TWO ungreased 9X13 inch baking dishes. Let them cool and then cut each pan into 24 bars.
Enjoy!
