If you are into pinching your pennies and finding the best deals, you may have looked into getting solar panels…especially if you live somewhere nice and sunny like Arizona! Have you heard of the rate increases local power companies are starting to add to costumer bills for future solar panel owners? Some of them as much as $400 more a year!
Some states have already have added an increase and others are in the works. Here in Arizona, SRP just increased in April to $50 a month and come July APS will increase $21 a month. You can read more on each of their pages here (SRP rate increase) and here (APS rate increase), but I found the news articles I linked to first most helpful on getting right to the point.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
As a Memorial Day special Solar City is offering an additional $100 Home Depot gift card in addition to any other savings they offer you through using solar energy. That means all those in the APS area will save an extra $250 a year.
All you need to do is call 856-745-7227 or email to get a quote and they will help you out. Make sure you ask for Caleb Antonucci and tell him Michelle or Fun on a Dime sent you. I have met with him before and personally know he is very helpful, honest and enthusiastic. I always love looking at reviews, so you can check out all his reviews here too. It’s a great way to find out if solar panels are for you and its even better when you can get an extra perk with it, right?
This special is going on through the end of May but you still have through June before rates increase in the Arizona APS area. If you want to know if your rates are increase, make sure to give them a call (number above) and or fill out this form I am sure they will know.
