This past month the Mail Man delivered us some fun in a box thanks to LeapFrog and MomSelect. They wanted us to throw a party and we are all for any excuse to have some fun! (Scroll down to find out how you can win $500!)
Our package contained 2 Touch Magic™ Rockin’ Guitars and 1 Touch Magic™ Learning Bus along with some fun activities and recipe ideas to share with our little friends who were coming over.
A little about the new LeapFrog Touch Magic product line:
Touch Magic brings intuitive touch technology to preschool toys for the first time. Combining fun, learning and creativity, Touch Magic toys recognize every tap, touch and swipe to bring each product to life!
Touch Magic Rockin’ Guitar is based for ages 3+. It includes guitar, percussion and special effect sounds, as well as Ten different learning songs that allow for each child to create their own unique music. Each play experience can be customized by adding guitar riffs, silly sounds and rums to create 100+ different musical combinations.
I found it a little odd at first that the guitar has a smooth surface and no actual buttons, but as the children played I realized it allowed for a little more creativity with the sound and you do not have to worry about buttons getting stuck or other things sliding into said buttons. The children really liked to strum the strings fast making the songs go faster, of course, and making the voices sound like chipmunks.
Touch Magic Learning Bus is for ages 2+. There are 200+ learning and musical responses with this touch and learn system. It comes with 3 different learning modes: Learning, Letter Exploration and Music, which includes a variety of songs about the alphabet, motion and more. There are also 40+ touch points on the bus that include the letters, each with their own matching letter sound effect), piano keys, instruments for each passenger on the bus and more.
Again, there was a learning curve with the kiddos trying to figure out how to use the bus. The younger ones did not seem to notice that the buttons were flat and were content with the Music mode. The older children, when the first attempted to play, were a little confused on where/what they were supposed to touch. Once they started experimenting and exploring, they were experts in no time.
Unfortunately, we did not have as many friends come over as we wanted for the first party, but were able to have an “extended party” over a few weeks to share our new fun as friends came. The children had a lot of fun pretending and playing in their own band. I did not expect them to know what a band was, but they proved me wrong! We turned a fan on them to get their hair flying and they put on a cute little show!
In no time, they had all the tricks down! Even older children had a lot of fun “rocking out” with the music.
This is their interpretation in action below (click here if you cannot see the video):

We do need a good visit to Utah! The hubster keeps thinking that we can do it on a 3 day weekend. Ha! So, as soon as I can convince him to take off more time from work, you better believe we will be up there!
