I’m loving the Living Scriptures steaming service! Who else has it? My kids don’t watch TV very often, maybe once a week, but it’s nice that I can pop on a video that is wholesome and clean. We love the Book of Mormon animated films. All 13 that used to be on DVD are now available on streaming.
And Living Scriptures has more than just the Living Scriptures videos that are so popular (and used to be on DVD only). They also have LDS movies like The Best Two Years and Baptists at My Barbecue that you can’t get on Netflix. Besides movies they have music videos for just the songs in the animated Book of Mormon movies and activities you can do with your kids after they watch the video. In addition there are Family Home Evening activities and a lot of American history movies too. Your kids can learn strong Christian values and Living Scriptures is always adding new family friendly, uplifting movies to their library.
I’m so glad they offer this new service, it’s so much cheaper and easier than the DVDs and there’s no sales pressure or anything.
Sometimes we need an activity like this for Sundays after church and we want to keep the spirit in our home so this is really a good thing to keep the little ones learning. Since Living Scriptures has cartoons it really keeps their attention.
We use it. My kids watch it all day Sunday and use it for FHE. I feel like it’s stopped the arguing on Sunday and is totally worth it in my mind.
Bible Lessons and Teachings
Living Scriptures streaming has a series called Theo which teaches Christian principles. For example there’s one called, “Abiding in Christ”. It’s all taught from a grandfather-like character named Theo. Here’s the intro so you can get an idea what it’s like: “Theo is an older gentleman lives in a cozy corner of a quaint English village with his two mouse friends, Luther and Belfry. Theo discusses topics such as the doctrines of salvation, the Bible, and Godly living in a way that make children want to learn more. Plus, Luther and Belfry always seem to find themselves in a fun adventure! Theo teaches about the Armor of God, Redemption, and New Birth through New Testament stories, as the mice are saved from Scratch the cat.”
There are videos of classic Bible stories like The Prodigal Son, The Good Samaritan and The Lord’s Prayer.
Family Home Evening Lessons
At our house we try to have Family Home Evening every Monday night. Living Scriptures has videos you can use for your lesson and have complete FHE lesson outlines available in their Android and iOS apps. It makes planning FHE easy – from the opening song, to lesson, and even treats after.
How to Use Living Scriptures Streaming
