Back to school time is upon us and is an exciting time for everyone. Here are all of my kids ready for the their first day of school!
We homeschool so the kids are all getting new books, folders, pencils, markers etc. and then there is the 3 year old. I always try to make my preschooler feel special too by getting some things for her to do during school time as well. Here are a few of my favorite things to keep your younger kids entertained during school!!
I normally pull a couple different things out everyday so that she doesn’t get bored. She likes the variety and I like not having to clean up after every toy we have!!
Educational Toys: I have lots of fun games and activities. Ross is honestly my favorite place to pick these up. They always seem to have a bunch a great inexpensive prices. They have lots for big kids too!
This is my favorite line of preschool toys. They have a large variety and entertain the kids for forever. They are great for learning and fun.
Puzzles: Hard puzzles are great. I pull out a couple different ones a day.
Books: I like to start my school day off reading a book to my preschooler and then half way through our school day read another and then end reading one more. It helps her get one on one time with me making her feel included.
Coloring Books: My 3 year old loves to color so a new coloring book goes a long way! I rotate through pulling out colored pencils, washable markers and crayons. Changing the art medium helps keep her entertained and keeps it new each day.
LeapPad3 by LeapFrog: This is my daughters favorite way to pass school time so I don’t get it out until she has done all the other stuff first. We have an IPAD that she always wanted to play but it is so easily dropped and broken I hate letting her play with it, so this LeapPad3 is the perfect thing for her little fingers!!!
It is full of games that are perfect for her age and even has some great learning cartoons. It is easy enough for her to use all by herself but her sisters enjoy using it with her too.
One of her favorite parts is she gets to take pictures and then make funny faces with the included app. Not necessarily educational but hours of giggly fun!!
It is Wi-Fi capable so it is super easy for a me to add new games for her. I like that the games can be downloaded and
I don’t have to worry about keeping track of cartridges. Anything that makes my life easier, I am all in!!
