For our family, we like to keep birthdays simple, especially when the kiddos are younger. We came to realize that they want to feel special and have fun on their birthday AND that we do not have to throw some huge fancy/expensive party to meet those needs, especially if that is not in our budget.
Last year we asked my daughter what she wanted to do and she said that she wanted to have some friends over, wear pink and eat pink cupcakes. So that is just what we did! We nicknamed it the “Girly Party”. She liked it so much that she is asking for another “Girly Party” again for her birthday this year. We all had a lot of fun, it was simple to put together and no one was stressed out before or after the party. Who doesn’t love that?!?!
Here are some of the things we did:
Invited a handful of friends to come for a fun time, a little lunch and told them to dress in pink. Nothing is more fun than playing with a bunch of princesses!
We painted fingernails with fun designs (the only thing I can do are flowers…lol)
Ate a little lunch. PB&J and apples were a big hit!
Pink cupcakes are a must for a pink party!
And we finished the party off with some cute and easy to make Pipe Cleaner Crowns.
Later that day we had our own little family party after dinner and made Waffle Cakes!
ENJOY!!!
Though the party is simple. It still look great and surely full of fun. In our family we also like making birthdays simple and we do not over spend. There are lot of ways to turn a birthday party enjoyable, though it is simple. Thanks for sharing your post.
