Spice up pretend play in your child’s kitchen this summer by making spice bottles. Reuse containers and bottles by filling them with different materials such as rice, noodles, beads, beans, pom poms, or glitter. Glue the tops on to avoid a mess and enjoy! These have been a hit in our home! I didn’t write the names of spices on the bottles and I’m glad I didn’t. It is fun to hear what my son calls them as he adds them to his recipes.
I also made some recipes for my son to follow that would be easy to read and would include the play food that we have. The play kitchen recipes include fruit salad, vegetable soup, and cookies. Not only is this a great addition to a play kitchen it’s also a great way to sneak in a little beginning reading. Feel free to print them and use them in your own play kitchen.

I love this idea! My girls love to play in their kitchen and this would be such a hit. And I love the fact that it’s a green craft. Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to get started with it.
