Have you ever had one of those crazy awesome ideas that you know is just soooo smart and then it comes back to bite you in the butt later! LOL I so had that last summer.
I decided I was going to use reusable swim diapers last summer. I thought it would be so thrifty of me and would be so easy. Well…….. that was all well and good until we were at a splash pad enjoying the cool water when my son had a crazy blowout. Of course there were no bathrooms around, I didn’t have extra clothes, and it was 110 degrees outside. Can we say UGH!!! Needless to say I am pretty sure I threw away the suit, diaper, and towel because there was no coming back from that one!
Lesson learned I love my Huggies Swim Diapers that I pick up at my local CVS and I won’t be swayed again!! I won’t be caught off guard again either and here is how!
We all know that our diaper bags can be like Mary Poppins bags ready for every occasion. I don’t know about you but my diaper bag is pretty dang full and heavy and their isn’t much room to fit all the summer stuff we need too so I have a summer swim diaper bag!
I had an old diaper bag I didn’t use any more (I’m sure everyone has one or a random bag stuck in a closet corner some where!) that I have packed with all the summer staples! This way when we are headed to the pool I just grab my summer bag and we are good to go.
- sun screen
- sun hat
- 3 Huggies swim diapers (You can get a $2.00 off coupon HERE)
- 3 Huggies diapers
- wet wipes
- swim suit
- outfit
- snacks (Keep your snacks in plastic containers and they won’t get crushed in the bag.)
- nursing blanket
- swim float (I love this one because it folds up and fits right in my bag.)
- an extra pair of big kid undies (It never fails that if we take clothes to change in to someone forgets their undies so it is always nice to have an extra.)
My big kids have a bag too so swimming is a cinch. I use an Ikea bag because it is water proof and perfect for bringing wet stuff home and gigantic so it can hold:
- towels for every person
- puddle jumpers for the non-swimmers
- sunscreen
- goggles
I keep these two bags packed at all times so heading out to swim at Nana’s or a friends can be a spur of the moment activity and much more enjoyable and less stressful. There is nothing worse than trying to go do something FUN and it takes an hour to try and gather everything you need. It kinda sucks the fun right out of the activity!!
I didn’t know that reusable swim diapers existed! I have been using the Huggies Swim Diapers for years, and they have never failed! #client
