We are visiting family and my sister-in-law (I have many!) is the best at entertaining groups of children! This very simple and very inexpensive activity kept a group of 3-5 year olds busy for at least 45 minutes. My daughter is just 3 years old and even though she had a harder time cutting by herself she surprised me and lasted over an hour! A younger child is sure to enjoy this with help from an adult or older sibling. All participating get a chance to explore the different pictures, cutting shapes and interacting with one another. Even the older nieces (9ish) enjoyed this!
What You Need:
- Paper – the more color/fun the merrier!
- Toy ads
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional: Embellishments – string/yarn, glitter glue/paint, markers, etc.
Directions:
Step 1: Save the toy ads from the mail or snag some from a store while out shopping.
Step 2: Gather your List Creators at the table. Give each scissors and a toy ad and tell them to cut out anything they see that they like.
Step 3: Let them choose some fun paper (if you have it handy) and let them glue their cut outs onto the paper as desired.
Step 4: If you have any fun paint or accessories, embellish away! We used glitter glue/paint to write their names on one of their sheets.
Step 5: Display! A fridge door is a great place! If end up with more than one sheet per creator (we averaged 3 per child), you can three-hole punch the pages and make a book by tyng them together with yarn.
ENJOY!!!
