I made an announcement over the weekend stating I had something BIG to share. Well, here we go! Thanks to Kristi from ShiftMyBody.com I jumped into a weight loss adventure at the beginning of the summer and I am so glad I didn’t wait the 2 months until school began to start. I have officially lost over 20 lbs! 22 lbs to be exact and only after 8 weeks! AND I didn’t take any pills, do any extreme diets, or starve myself to get here. Want to find out how? Read on! Do You Believe?
As I mentioned before, I did not believe either. I did not believe that I could feel like I could be in a lifestyle and not in diet prison. I am currently on this journey and I want to share it with each of you because it has not only empowered me in my life but my marriage and in my family life. One thing that I have really learned is that I CANNOT be a better wife, mom, friend and person in general, if I am not taking care of myself first. When I am taking care of me, everything falls into place. AND sometimes it is slow at first!, but it is such a beautiful and AHHH-mazing thing to see!
Here is me when I was in diet mode. It was a lifstyle but only a lifestyle for so long. This was when I lost my baby weight after baby #2, who was almost 4 when I got back to pre-baby weight. You can see more of my first weight loss journey here.
Here’s me when I did boot camp. I worked my behind off and I actually gained a few pounds. LOVED it, but my body was just not responding right after 6 weeks. You would think when you are over 40 lbs over weight some weight would have fallen off working so hard.
Here’s me now! I am in the middle of my journey. I have lost significant weight but I feel like a whole new person inside AND I am still growing! I am recognizing that growth is a daily practice as well as self belief. I believe that we deserve to look at our life differently and the same scenario and turn it into something beautiful. That is what SHIFT is all about! It’s about having a journey (l.o.v.e. that!) vs just looking at the pounds on the scale or something to check off…both of which lack emotion, vitality, hope and in the end will leave you falling back into old patterns when you are done with your weight loss.
This time around, I am losing my baby weight from baby #3 and should be back to pre-baby weight before she turns 2. Woohoo!!!
