I was given product to facilitate this review but all opinions are 100% my own!!
Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays! It seems that with 7 kids it is always someone’s birthday. We started many years ago that the kids swapped every year having birthday parties. One year they have a party and the next we do an activity (ex: bowling, go to a play, a museum etc.). When a birthday party does roll around coming up with a theme and activity can be super challenging.
My daughter is turning 4 this month so I am throwing her, her very first friend birthday party and she is super excited!! I wanted an easy theme and activities because this time of year is super busy! We got a Leap TV as her present so we are centering all the activities around the fun games that we got with it. You can’t go wrong with dancing and some sports in a room full of kids!!
To go with our Leap Frog product we are doing the theme GREEN! How do you make a color the theme you ask? Well here you go:
Decorations:
Green plates, green napkins, green forks, green tablecloths, and green balloons. Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Well it was!!
Food:
I had the party from 2-4 so I just served snacks. It was perfect for the little kids. We of course went with our green theme and had pickle spears (my daughters favorite food), ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins), green apples with carmel dip, green grapes, and cucumbers with ranch dip. Don’t forget the green fruit punch!
Tip: Write the kids names on the cups before they get there to make snack time smoother.
For dessert we had cake with a green wrapper and a green Sixlet on top of the chocolate frosting.
Tip: To help make frosting faster use a small scoop (I use my cookie dough baller) and put a scoop on each cupcake and then use a knife to spread it around.
Her favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip so that was an easy green item!
Tip: Before the party started I individually scooped the ice cream into muffin cups and stuck them in the freezer. It made passing out cake and ice cream a breeze I highly recommend it!!
Activity:
We set up four stations to keep the kids entertained and it worked like a charm. We had one room with Leap Frog coloring sheets and new crayons.
We had one room full of green balloons to play with.
Tip: Before the party starts blow up the balloons and stick them in a garbage bag. This contains them and keeps them safe from all the little fingers that want to get to them early!
We had green homemade play dough out also. This was each kids favor as well. I hate buying junk that will just get thrown away so I always like to have an inexpensive favor that kids will use. I found adorable green boxes at Walmart and put the homemade play dough in a baggie inside.
The main activity was our new Leap TV by Leap Frog. I can’t believe what fun they all had. They danced, danced, and danced some more. They also played baseball, karate and snow boarding. The Leap TV was super easy to use because it gives all of directions verbally so even the youngest guests can play.
They loved seeing themselves on the screen you can see it on the video above this was definitely my girls favorite part. I loved that it had them doing math facts and building words. A little education and a lot of fun! You can even adjust the age of the player so the problems can be easier and harder. Definitely a keeper we can’t wait to explore more games.
Rory had blast her 4th birthday party and a plus for mom it was soooo easy! Try an easy party theme and pick your favorite color!
I would love to see pictures so please share:)
