I have a confession…… I love mason jars! I love canning in them, drinking out of them and I LOVE crafting in them. I have decided to share a cute mason jar craft every month next year and I am starting a little bit early. They make such inexpensive gifts that wow everyone! I am starting with a fabulous fall gift, a simmering pot recipe.
Have you seen these around on the internet. There are tons of recipes readily available but this one is my favorites for fall. The idea behind a simmering pot recipe is you put the simple ingredients in a jar and add water. Simmer on the stove all day just keep adding more water for a gorgeous all natural smell!
I realize my photo is missing the orange but my kids ate the last one before I could snap the photo. Oops the problems of mommy bloggers! LOL
Supplies Needed:
- pint mason jar
- 1 orange thinly sliced
- 1 apple peel
- 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 T. whole cloves
- water
Add the orange, apple peel, cinnamon sticks and cloves to the mason jar and fill remaining jar with water. It’s as simple as that!!!
Tip: I was told by a friend that if you break the cinnamon sticks in half it releases even more of the flavor and smell so break away my friends!!
Now every cute gift needs a cute printable so check out my chalkboard printable below! Click on the picture below to save it and print it from your computer at home!
I am loving the chalkboard prints they are absolutely my favorite printable style!
There you have it, a super simple gift. It would be great for a teacher, friend, secretary, grandma or party host. Don’t forget to make one for yourself because they really do smell amazing!
I like to keep gifts like this on hand for last minute occasions. Do you have easy seasonal gifts handy for last minute presents?
