I have been planning all month to do the May Family Challenge of a Family Talent Night. Each week it would get postponed and I started to get a little worried that it wouldn’t happen, but we finally did our own last week. What a blast! I gave the kiddos a couple of days notice and they were very excited. They have cousins who incorporate “Sharing a Talent” as a job for one member of the family for the weekly family night. Every time we are over on their family night, that has to be my kiddos favorite part to watch. So, when they knew they were going to be able to do something on their own they started planning.
Since there are only 4 of us our talent night did not last very long. Once started, each child came up with another talent that they “had to share” with us. We had one child show us they could color in the lines, an impromptu couples dance performed by both kiddos, a story was shared by pictures they colored and the ability to wheelbarrow as a team! The dance numbers are always my favorite with Dad humming some Disney princess song. They always end with a dip, which is the picture above. I cheated and showed off my growing belly as a talent. Next time I should just color a picture, too! 🙂
If you haven’t had a chance to share your talent night or even do a talent night, I encourage you to JUST DO IT! Even an impromptu one just before bed would be awesome. It’s a fun and exciting time for everyone to cheer one another on. Then share any pictures or comments over on this post or on the Fun On a Dime facebook page.
