Do you have a favorite cartoon from when you were a kid? One of my favorites was the Peanuts holiday cartoons. We watched them around every holiday and always made a big deal out of it with a fun treat. I have carried this tradition on with my kids and we are super excited about The Peanuts Movie coming out in theaters this fall.
I found a fabulous way you can earn a ticket to the movies by buying something I always buy anyway. Buy ANY TWO (2) specially marked packages of Tyson® Chicken Products or State Fair® Corn Dogs and you can receive up to $9.00 toward one child admission to see The Peanuts Movie only in theaters. You just enter the codes online and viola you have redeemed your ticket!
I found mine at my local Walmart and stocked up to get quite a few tickets. After all I do have quite a few kids:)
Now we all know chicken nuggets need a fabulous dipping sauce so here is my yummy homemade ranch recipe! I like to keep a big batch of the mix made up and ready in the pantry for whenever I need it. I use it in all kinds of different recipes to give them flavor. It is fabulous mixed into hamburger when you are making burgers for just one example.
Ingredients
- 1/3 c. dried parsley
- 1 T. dried dill
- 1 T. garlic powder
- 1 T. onion powder
- 1 1/2 t. dried basil
- 1 1/2 t. pepper
Place all ingredients in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid and shake till all mixed up. (I like to triple the recipe and keep it on hand.)
To use mix 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup milk and 3 T. of ranch mix.
Whisk together and refrigerate.
Do you know what else goes with ranch dressing? Vegetables of course and the best way to get kids to eat their vegetables is to make them fun shapes.
I got this set of little cookie cutters years ago and I can’t tell you how handy they have been. Sandwiches, meat, cheese and vegetables are no match for them!
For a fun twist we even made fruit kabobs to complete our meal.
How yummy does this look! Not a bad protein powered snack! We are ready for our Peanut movie watching marathon. What is your favorite Peanut character that you are excited to see on the big screen?
