St. Patrick’s Day growing up was a simple and fun day. A day where we hopefully wore a little green or we got pinched and we definitely went looking to pinch others who were not wearing any green. Sometimes we had a green meal, but most of the time it was an easy going day with very little decorations or hoopla. When I moved away from college my mom sent me a care package just before St. Patrick’s day with some Green Lips Tattoos. I thought they were awesome! I remember walking around campus with a green kiss on my cheek and getting the craziest looks because I forgot it was there. It was just fun.
Fast forward a few years and I want to recreate a little of that simple fun without making St. Patrick’s Day a BIG holiday. So, when our local Pinterest Party rolled around, I thought it would be a great excuse for me to get everything ready in a fun little kit and share my simple fun. Thus, our little Irish Luck In a Box was born.
It includes the main ingredients for our Lucky Popcorn Treat Recipe (the gelatin and 4 tablespoons of popcorn) and some green shamrock tattoos (via Amazon) all crammed into a cute mini box (via Amazon). It’s been fun to share these with friends and even hand one off to my sister on her short visit home before she went back to school!
The popcorn treat was super easy to make and you can find the recipe here. the kiddos loved it…a little too much! It is sweet and they all learned that 1 cup is more than plenty for them! 🙂 But, I saw them sneaking back for more later on! Yum, yum!
