I love birthday parties, but I love simple and fun birthday parties even better. My sister-in-law (aka The amazing Debra) and her family threw this party together a couple of years ago for their son. My kids loved it so much and I forgot I had pictures for it to share. Everything was cute, yet so simple to put together with emphasis on fun and experience.
Invitation Idea:
This invitation was hand delivered by the birthday boy with a banana attached. He had hand written both of my kiddos’ names on the front and was super excited to deliver it.
The Front:
The Back:
It included the party address and phone number to RSVP (I edited those from the invite below for privacy)
The Jungle Party Decor:
They wanted jungle leaves, so they used green plastic table cloths (the cheap kind from the party section at any store), cut a large leaf shape with edges and hung them from twine they draped across the ceiling of the party area (their kitchen).
They also create “mangos” by using green, orange and yellow balloons attached to the twine with a pipe cleaner. Super simple, but it turned out great!
Jungle Themed Monkey Craft:
For one of the activities, each attendee created their own cute monkey to take home with them. My daughter still has hers over a year later! (directions coming soon)
I also remember they did some sort of bean bag toss and made a huge monkey face for the kids to toss their bean bags into.
Jungle Themed Treats / Cake:
What do monkeys love? Bananas, of course! So, what better than a Banana Cream Cake! (recipe details coming soon). My kiddos really enjoyed this cake. They told me I HAD to have some as soon as I came to pick them up and I was told it was super easy to make.
