You have probably already guessed, but I love making anything into an activity. As my kiddos are getting older, we are getting more and more invitations for friend’s birthday parties. My kids love it, but we have seemed to run into a problem. We never have enough wrapping paper when we need it!
Thank goodness we have enough brown paper sacks we bought for lunches for school field trips! Okay, I’ll admit we did this once because of the excuse of not having wrapping paper, but my daughter loved it so much that she has been excited to do it every time now! We have even started stashing the brown paper that comes as stuffing in packages mailed to us. It makes perfect wrapping paper!
What You Need:
- 1 kiddo ready to get creative
- Brown paper sacks or any kind of blank paper (we’ve used white printer paper, too!)
- Markers, coloring pencils, stamps, etc.
Directions:
Step 1: Wrap present in desired paper. My daughter insists on being there to help with the tape.
Step 2: Color and design away!
Step 3: For younger kiddos this is a great opportunity to help them practice writing and spelling as they write the friend’s name who will get it and their own name. My soon to be 1st grader loves to include a message.
This designer wrapping paper is probably appreciated the most by the giver, but it was a perfect before party project to help give her excitement some focus.
