It is party time in the Schloss household. We have 3 birthdays in less than 30 days. Oh my it is a busy month!! I love throwing parties but they can get quite pricey very fast so I always challenge myself to see how much fun I can create on as little money as possible. I threw this party for 12 kids and spent under $100. $91.90 to be exact!!! I say that’s not to shabby. Check out Part 1 today and make sure you check back next week for Part 2!
Invites
My daughter insisted on making her own invites this year and I think they turned out so cute!! It was super simple to put together. We got paint sample swatches at our local home improvement store and cut them into thin strips. She glued them on and then put the words on. I cut the words out on my Cricut. Super simple and fun for her.
Decorations
To be honest I am not much of a decorator. I hate wasting money on things that are just going to get thrown away. That being said I had a lot of fun coming up with the table decorations for this party. I love a good theme!! The centerpieces doubled as our science experiment with school that week. We were learning about plants so we got white carnations and put them in colored water to dye them. Add some cute jars and every color of the rainbow and we had super cute centerpieces!! (I forgot to take a picture of them all laid out but we put half on each table.) We made a table runner down the middle of the table cloth out of construction paper taped together and it turned out great. My daughter even made everyone little name plates.
My kids always make a banner for their sisters birthdays too so this is always a cute inexpensive idea!
Check back next week to see the activities we did and the food we ate!
Here is a sneak peak of one of our activities….
