Every Christmas we get together we have the opportunity to get together with a lot of our extended family, which means we get to play a lot of fun games. This is a game that my mom put together last year and everyone had a blast. It was so fun to watch the other team try and act out the cards. Since it was Christmas time, the game is Christmas themed but you can easily recreate it for anything you would like. I have also put together a quick video of the game in action, so you can see what you are missing out on. Enjoy!
What You Need:
- List of short themed phrases or song titles/lyrics
- Sheets of paper with written phrases/songs titles (see above supply) large enough for other’s to see.- we used half sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch paper
- 2 Teams of at least 3 people on a team – we separated spouses onto opposite teams
- Timer – we used an cell phone
- 1 person to hold the guessing cards
Directions:
Step 1: Divide into 2 teams and chose one person per turn to be the “guesser” for the entire minute. 1 person not on the team will stand behind the “guesser” with the cards for the other team to be able to see.
Step 2: The rest of the team will do their best to act out whatever is on the card in order to get the “guesser” to guess the card. There is supposed to be not talking or saying any clues, but obviously you can see in the video sample below of the game, that it is difficult to be quite! 🙂
Step 3: When the “guesser” has guessedthe answer correctly, a new card is placed in front of the pile so the team can continue acting out the phrases until the time runs out.
Step 4: When the time is up, the teams switch places. A new “guesser” should be used every time. Keep going until you have used all the cards or reached your number of desired rounds.
Step 5: Whichever team guesses the most by the end of the game WINS.
Have fun and enjoy!
Video Demonstration:
As you will be able to see , this game is a lot of fun and players can really get into it!
