While visiting family my sister-in-law showed me how to make these cute Santa Christmas Tags. You can also make them into cards. They are really easy and quick to make and oh, so cute!
What You Need:
- Red, white, yellow and black card stock
- Tape or glue
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
- Razor blade or paper cutter
Directions:
Step 1: Cut pieces of red card stock about 3.5 inches wide by 4 inches tall OR if you want to make a card instead, you can cut a full sheet of card stock in half and then fold that in half again.
Step 2: Cut the white card stock into 4 inch length strips. You are going to tear the paper, to make it 1.5 inches wide to give it the bumpy edge look of fur you see below. So, the easiest way to do this is to start by cutting the paper into 4 inch tall by and 2 inch wide strips or if you trust your tearing skills you can cut the 4 inch tall strips and tear away! Use glue or tape (preferably double stick) the fur down the center of the tag.
Step 3: Cut the yellow card stock into 1.5 x 1.5 inch squares. Use a razor blade or a paper cutter to cut 2 1 inch slits into the square (see below). You do NOT want to cut the slits all the way through, so you can slide the belt through. (Sorry about the picture. The camera did not like the yellow so I had to make the picture extra dark so you can see the slits)
Step 4: Time to cut the belt! Cut a 1 inch tall and 3.5 inch wide (or whatever the width of your tag is) strip black card stock. You should be able to insert the belt into the buckle like below.
Step 5: Attach the belt/buckle below the halfway mark. On a tag that is 4 inches tall aim for the top of the belt being on the 2 inch mark (the halfway mark), so the belt/buckle is on the lower half of the tag.
Step 6: Punch a hole and add a ribbon for the tag tie.
Step 7: Attach to presents or anything else. Now aren’t you cute!
ENJOY!!
