I saw this Valentine’s Doily T-Shirt in the recent FamilyFun Magazine and knew my daughter would love to create her own personalized Valentine’s Day shirt. She L.O.V.E.S. it!
Very little supplies were needed (t-shirt, paint, doily, paint brush) and it did not take long to complete. My 4 year old had a blast making the t-shirt practically all on her own. It was not until we were done that I noticed the directions called for a glue stick. We did not use glue sticks and it turned out fine. You should give it a try!
If it was up to my daughter, she would have embellished the collar, sleeves and added a ton more polka dots. Luckily, she was convinced that less is more and that it looked perfect! I do love the single heart pictured in the magazine, but this is her own and so it is perfect!
You should give it a try!
Cute shirt. I saw it in the magazine. I need to try it.
I’d love to see how your’s turns out. And to save you time, I found the heart doilies in the Valentine’s Day section. I know that seems obvious, but I looked in the the wedding/party section first and then baking before I remembered the Valentines Day area. They were less than a $1.50 for a pack of 12 with 2 different sizes. Have fun!
I bought the fabric paint and discovered I do not have the foam brush. I plan to make it today or tomorrow for ME! Is a 44 year old woman too old to wear a heart shirt?!
I love how your little girl’s came out. Very cute!!!!
You are never too old for a cute shirt! I think it is a perfectly classy look. =) As my daughter was making her’s I was trying to figure out if I could use 2 of the doilies or split one in half to make angel wings on the back….the possibilities are endless. Have fun!
just wanted to let you know that I put together a roundup post of these valentine tshirts and included yours!
